Initial Thoughts

Often I have found myself spending hours on other peoples social media footprint through their blogs, pictures on Instagram, collages and wish lists of Pinterest, career moves on Linkedin, and daily random updates on Facebook. I will not endeavor to walk down the path of Twitter and Tumblr, but I have at least committed to making Google+, Bloglovin as my blog aggregator, Pinterest, and LinkedIn as my key social media tools. Wow, that seems like an awful lot to follow and still have a "normal" life of non addictive social media interaction. However, the days of just knowing your friends status updates are over. Now are the days of transparency of businesses through status feeds and thought provoking speeches on TED.

To stay current on just about all things can be a part time or even a full time job for some. You could be on either side of the coin. You can be the subject matter expert on all current events and people respect you. Or you can be the person who doesn't bother with social media because your out living and experiencing the non virtual world. I hope that I am a bit of both.

Who doesn't like to document their life especially with all the new and easy ways to do so. My fear is who are you documenting it for...yourself or for the public you do not know.
